The Sihanouk Ville town area is spread thinly across a peninsula,
surrounded on three sides by beaches, with the downtown area near to center of the peninsula a couple of kilometers from the beaches. If you are
arriving in town by bus or taxi, you’ll be dropped off at the bus stop downtown. (Now located at the front of the new market, Sihanouk vill
Trade Center, on Omui street.) If you’re arriving from Koh Kong by ferry you’ll disembark at the ferry dock north of town. There are always dozens of motorcycle taxis (
motodups), Tuk tuks and a fews car taxis waiting for new arrivals. Some guesthouse and hotels offer a free shuttle for pre-booked guests.
Otres Beach is similar to Ochheuteal but far less touristed and has a
relaxed, out of little seafood. Currently there isn’t any regular accommodation but plenty off little seafood shack and bars. Read about more beaches including Independence Beach and Sokha Beach in the

Sihanoukville (Krong Preah Sihanouk), also known as Kampong Som, is a port city in southern Cambodia on the Gulf of Thailand and is a growing Cambodian urban center. It is 185 kilometers southwest of Phnom Penh and it is the administrative center of Sihanouk Province. |

Preah Sihanouk Ream National Park was about 18 kilometers from downtown Sihanoukville. The area covers 21,000 hectares which 15,000 hectares are terrestrial and 6,000 hectares are marine habitats. The beach’s sand is not as white as those of the beach in Sihanoukville city. Good transportation services to some island such as Koh Ta Keav and Koh Rusei are available. Please bring along with your own food and drink if you want to spend daytime trekking those islands.

including a 5-star Cambodian beach resort complex on Sokha Beach, several mid-range places downtown and at the beaches, a few 'upscale' three-star hotels, and dozens of great guesthouses, especially on Ochheuteal Beach. Considering the moderate number of visitors to Sihanoukville, the town offers a surprising number and variety of restaurants and bars. |
